A motor control apparatus comprises a power source circuit section which has a control circuit for driving and controlling a motor and which generates a voltage for internal use from an externally supplied voltage, a control circuit section wherein the voltage for internal use acts as a power source, and a protective circuit section that monitors the voltage for internal use and cuts off supply of the voltage for internal use if any abnormality of the voltage value of the voltage for internal use is detected. Also, the motor control apparatus supplies the voltage for internal use through the protective circuit section in respect of a specified control circuit section included in the control circuit section.
