The present invention relates to an automatic gas shut-off device for controlling the flow of gas in an appliance in which gas is used. In both domestic and industrial gas appliances of the prior art, the supply of LNG or LPG has been effected manually by means of a mechanical gas valve. In contrast, with the automatic gas shut-off device of the present invention, the projecting part of the rotational shaft of a gas valve is connected to a circular gear linked to a gearbox comprising a small-scale DC motor and gears within the device, in such a way that the rotational force of the DC motor can be used to rotate the gas valve through 90 degrees and open and close the gas valve. In addition, the present invention relates to an automatic gas shut-off device arranged in such a way as to have a function whereby it also shuts off gas automatically when there is a gas leak or an outbreak of fire, a function for setting the duration of use, and an additional function whereby it displays whether or not operation is normal. |
