A method for allocating power of a user dedicated reference signal (DRS) and the equipment thereof are disclosed, which are used to solve the problem that the power of a DRS can not be adjusted according to the transmission situation of data. The method includes: transmitting to a terminal the Cell-Dedicated Reference Signal (CRS) and the user Dedicated Reference Signal (DRS) of the first downlink resource which is allocated to said terminal; when the current downlink transmission mode is beam-forming transmission, determining, according to the received data quality feedback information transmitted by the terminal, the DRS power to be allocated to the terminal the next time for the second downlink resource. Through the method, the power of the DRS can be adjusted dynamically according to the actual transmission situation of the data.
