<p>In many cases, the maximum values have been established for the respective ones of sheet sizes that are available with application software programs that run on a computer. (The term of "application software programs" will be abbreviated as "applications" hereinafter). Moreover, such maximum values differ according to the respective applications. Therefore, if it is necessary to obtain a printing the size of which is greater than the maximum sheet size for an application, then a complicated procedure is required which includes calculating a sheet size (including calculation of a length-to-width ratio) with the maximum sheet size for the application taken into account and setting the calculated sheet size to the application and which further includes calculating and setting an enlargement ratio of a printer driver. According to this invention, in a plug-in for a general-purpose application, a user has only to designate a size of a printing the user desires to output, thereby calculating an output size that does not exceed the maximum sheet size for the application, calculating a sheet size having the same length-to-width ratio, and setting those calculated sizes to the printer driver and application. In this way, the problem stated above can be solved.</p> |
