<p>A secondary battery includes a can and an electrode assembly within the can. The electrode assembly has a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate and a separator between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate, the first electrode plate having a coated portion coated with an active material and an uncoated portion absent the active material. The secondary battery also includes a cap assembly adapted to seal the can. An electrode tab electrically connects the uncoated portion of the first electrode plate to the cap assembly, the electrode tab having a bilayer structure including a copper layer and a nickel layer.</p> |
