RATCHET ONE-WAY CLUTCH ASSEMBLY

A ratchet one-way clutch assembly includes an inner race member and an outer race member, the inner race member having a plurality of notches and the outer race membe r having a plurality of pockets. A spring member is positioned between the inner and outer race members and a plurality of pawl members is provided, with one such pawl member positioned in each of the pockets. The spring member has a plurality of windows, with a corresponding one of the pa wl members being positioned in each of the windows. The spring member has a tab member in eac h of the windows, each of the tab members biasing a respective pawl member toward engagement with the notches in the inner race. The tab members have essentially the same axial width as the pawl members.
