<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which the pretilt azimuth of a liquid crystal molecule on a reflective electrode is stably defined by using a PSA technology. <P>SOLUTION: A pixel includes: a liquid crystal layer 42 including nematic liquid crystal material of negative dielectric anisotropy; a pixel electrode 14 and a counter electrode 24 facing each other via the liquid crystal layer; vertically aligned films 32a, 32b; and a pair of alignment sustained layers 34a, 34b constituted with a UV polymer formed on respective surfaces of the liquid crystal layer sides of the vertically aligned films. The pixel electrode has a reflective electrode 14R that reflects visible light, the reflective electrode transmits UV ray and the alignment sustained layer is formed on the liquid crystal layer side of the reflective electrode, too. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
