摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser-arc welding method which performs laser welding and arc welding in combination, and a machine therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The laser-arc composite welding machine includes a laser welding head 13 and an arc welding torch 15 mounted on a working head 11 which is movable in the directions of axes X, Y and Z. When performing welding along a weld line 31 which is the portion to be joined of a workpiece W, a gap sensor 37 mounted on the machining head 11 detects a gap amount on the weld line 31 of the workpiece. If the detected gap amount is less than a preset value, laser welding is performed by the use of the laser welding head 13. If the detected gap amount is more than the preset value, arc welding is performed by the use of the arc welding torch 15 in combination with laser welding. When the workpiece is welded along the weld line 31, the gap sensor detects the gap amount over the whole range of the weld line, and after laser welding is performed in a range where the detected gap amount is less than the preset value, arc welding is performed in a range where the detected gap amount is more than the preset value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p>
