<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support for a vehicle allowing reduction of a burden in driving operation for obstacle avoidance by a driver. <P>SOLUTION: When deciding that there is a possibility that an obstacle SB present in advance of a travel direction of one's own vehicle SM contacts with the own vehicle SM within a prescribed time, an avoidance direction advantageous to contact avoidance with the obstacle SB is determined. Furthermore, the own vehicle SM is controlled to guide the own vehicle SM to the advantageous avoidance direction in a range of an allowable lateral movement amount set in the own traveling path. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
