<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate positioning of an output terminal of an electrode member and holding the positioned state, when attaching each component such as a piezo-electric element, the electrode member and the like to a shaft part of a main member and fastening them with a nut in a manufacturing process of a knock sensor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The sensor is configured such that the nut 55 is entwisted toward the shaft part 12, thereby pressurizing an element 21 in a direction in which both ends are sandwiched between the nut 55 and a flange 13. A case 60 made of resin is formed as the circumferential surface of the sensor, and a connector housing 61 made of resin is formed so as to encompass a pair of output terminals 39, 49. Elastic plate parts 33, 43 to be pressed to the inner circumferential surface 24a of the element 21 are disposed on a pair of electrode members 31, 41 in such the state of being arranged so as to contact with each electrode layer of both ends of the element 21. This pressing enables the electrode members 31, 41 to be attached to the element 21 in an attaching process of components, thereby simplifying the positioning of the output terminals 39, 49.
