The outer surface (5) of the welded seam (3) is given a surface coating (6) formed as a thermally-sprayed layer. The seam (3) is a fillet weld (4). The coating is bonded onto the component parts (1, 2) by its edges (8). The coating is implemented with its edges thinned-out continuously. The component so formed, is also claimed.
