The covering (10) has a wall or sealing fabric i.e. glass decoration fabric (1), and an acoustically effective layer made of fleece (2), felt and foam, consisting of polyester, latex, polyurethane, rayon or wools, or another sound absorbing or sound damping planar material. The wall or sealing fabric overlaps the acoustically effective layer at two lateral edges, where the wall or sealing fabric and the acoustically effective layer are connected together except for the lateral edges. The lateral edges are provided with an adhesive, which is reactivated by heat supply. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a web-shaped wall or ceiling covering.
