The rotor has a set of magnetic pockets for retaining permanent magnets, and an end plate (6) arranged at a set of front sides. One of the set of front sides has a distribution channel (7) for distribution of sealing compound. A set of magnetic pockets extend in a linear extension of the rotor, and the channel stretches a plane, which stands perpendicular to an axis of the linear extension of the rotor. The channel is formed in such a manner that the channel limits at the magnetic pockets during arrangement of the end plate at the front sides of the rotor. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a rotor.
