<p>Provided is a method for producing an aqueous emulsion containing a fluorinated copolymer, in which, as copolymerizing monomers, use is made of (A) at least one type of perfluoroalkylalkyl acrylate represented by the general formula CnF2n+1CmH2mOCOCR=CH2 (where R is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, n is 4, 5 or 6, and m is 1, 2, 3 or 4) or a corresponding methacrylate, (B) benzyl acrylate or benzyl methacrylate, (C) a non-fluorinated polymerizable monomer other than benzyl acrylate and benzyl methacrylate, and (D) a crosslinking-group-containing polymerizable monomer. The copolymer is produced by carrying out a first polymerization reaction with the pre-emulsion polymerization method using from 10 to 80 wt% of the (A) component and from 0 to 60 wt% of the (B) component, and a second polymerization reaction with the emulsion polymerization method using the remaining components, and during the emulsion polymerization reaction an emulsifying agent is used in a proportion of from 21 to 150 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight in total of the polymerizable monomers (A) and (B) used in the first polymerization reaction.</p> |
