PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a database management server device that keeps the consistency of update and prevents the occurrence of latency in update processing. SOLUTION: The server device 3 of a database management system 1 has a function for performing a generation management database management by updating a database in a nondestructive manner on the basis of an update request from a client device 2. In a main storage unit 4, the entities of a plurality of databases are stored every version of database, and a version creation unit 5 creates a new version of database on the basis of the update request from the client device. A request receiving unit 11 receives the update request for the next version regardless of whether a new version is being created. A receiving management unit 13 starts a receiving period of the update request for the next version in response to the update request, and completes the receiving period after a predetermined time elapses.
