PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a tension roll to carry out both of passive and active easing motions in high followability by suppressing the flection of the tension roll. SOLUTION: The tension roll-supporting mechanism for a loom, supporting the tension roll carrying out both of the passive and active easing motions is equipped with a first shaft extended over the whole weaving width and having a plurality of receivers for supporting the tension roll so as to be rotatably fixed thereto, and a second shaft extended over the whole weaving width and having a plurality of receivers for supporting the first shaft so as to be rotatably fixed thereto. The plurality of the first receivers includes the first intermediate receiver for supporting the midway of both the terminals of the tension roll, and the plurality of the second receivers includes the second intermediate receiver for supporting the midway of both the terminals of the first shaft. The first shaft has a first lever, fixed thereto, linked to a motion mechanism of one easing motion, and the second shaft has a second lever, fixed thereto, rotatably supported on both terminals by a frame, and linked to a motion mechanism of the other easing.
