A parent controller (30) is provided with a group database (35d) and a control unit (32), controls via a first child controller (20a) multiple indoor units (10a) under the control thereof, and controls via a second child controller (20b) other multiple indoor units (10b) under the control thereof.  The group database (35d) stores group definition information that defines groups to which the indoor units (10a) under the control of the first controller (20a) and the indoor units (10b) under the control of the second controller (20b) belong.  The control unit (32) controls the indoor units (10a, 10b) on a group-by-group basis with reference to the group definition information.
