<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a translucent ceramic of an MgO-based solid solution which has high translucency without necessitating a hot isostatic press (HIP) treatment. <P>SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of the translucent ceramic, which is composed of the solid solution formed by dissolving a compound containing at least one element of a second component selected from a group comprising Fe, Ni, Co, Cu, Mn and Zn in MgO of a first component, comprises: a first step of obtaining a molten body by melting raw material powder containing the metal elements of the first component and the second component; a second step of obtaining the solid solution by solidifying the molten body; and a third step of crystallizing the solid solution by heat-treatment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
