<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make all variations of luminance of a backlight, and light transmission and luminance uniformity of a liquid crystal panel compensable. <P>SOLUTION: A luminance target value (R) is compensated by using luminance (P2) of a peripheral section of a rear face of backlight units (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) and luminance (P3) of a central section thereof, and the luminance of the backlight (6) is controlled in such a way that luminance (P1) of a peripheral section of a display surface of the liquid crystal panel (2) coincides with a luminance target value (R') after compensation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
