<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high quality image reproduction in decoding reproduction processing of encoded data. <P>SOLUTION: In the decoding reproduction of MPEG encoded data, a decoding processing scheduling part sets a sequence of pictures required to display a future display schedule frame, and sequentially sets a queue following the sequence in accordance with the occurrence of the emptiness of a queue, and a display frame-selecting part confirms a decode completion state of the display schedule frame at each display timing, and selects a neighboring decoded frame of the display schedule frame as a display frame when the decoding is not completed.
