PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high yield method which can directly introduce a perfluorohydrocarbon group onto an aromatic ring such as unprotected phenols under mild conditions. SOLUTION: The method for introducing a perfluorohydrocarbon group includes reacting an aromatic compound (A) having an aromatic ring to which a hydroxy group, a thiol group or a derivative thereof is bonded with a perfluorohydrocarbon group donor (B) having a perfluorohydrocarbon group in the presence of a weak base to directly introduce the perfluorohydrocarbon group onto the aromatic ring of the aromatic compound (A).
