PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool pot which holds down a shock and vibrations when a tool is attached thereto/detached therefrom, and carries out cutting work with high precision without temporarily stopping a machine tool. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the tool pot 1, a shaft portion 6 is reciprocatively mounted on a proximal end of a tool pot main body 3 that stores the tool 2 therein. The shaft portion 6 moves forward by a cylinder 9, and moves backward by energizing force of a clamp spring 7. Collet claws 13 arranged inside the tool pot main body are reciprocatively movable in interlock with the shaft portion, and a collet opening/closing spring 15 for energizing the collet claws in a direction that releases the tool, is arranged at a rotary proximal end of the collet claws. A guide portion 4 having a step is formed in an internal peripheral surface of the tool pot main body, and therefore when the collet claws recede, claw portions 13b abut on the guide portion to be closed, to thereby grip the tool against the energizing force of the collet opening/closing spring. When the collet claws move forward, the claw portions 13b disengage from the guide portion, and therefore, the tool is released by the energizing force of the collet opening/closing spring.
