<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an unleaded gasoline composition with reduced sulfur content and assuring satisfactory driving performance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The gasoline composition has an octane value of 96.0 or more according to the research method, 50 vol.% distillation temperatures at 105°C or lower, olefin content of 10 vol.% or more, a total sulfur content of 1 ppm by mass or less, thiophene as sulfur of 0.1-1.0 ppm by mass, and thiophene in total sulfur content as sulfur of 65-100 mass%.
