CNC INSTRUCTIONS FOR SOLIDIFICATION FIXTURING OF PARTS

Computer analysis of a customer-transmitted CAD file (28) produces CNC machining instructions (44), which are transmitted back to a customer-defined address. The transmitted instructions (44) include not only tool paths for total profile machining, but also for additional features formed into the encircling portion of the material, such as a registration recess (46) and/or channels (70) or undercuts (76) for fluid support material (78) on an A-side (40) of a material block (36). After machining the A-side (40), the customer adds and solidifies fluid support material (78) into the machined recess. A support surface (84) is machined into a portion of the solidified support material surface, for contact with a registration fixture (38) which is used during CNC machining the B-side (42) of the part (10). The support material (78) is then removed.
