When a close failure is detected (flag Fa is 1), the engine is controlled by using the target fuel injection amount Qf* obtained by correcting the basic fuel injection amount Qftmp in the increase direction upon operation of the engine accompanied by recirculation of the exhaust gas in the entire operable region (S220, S250, S260).
