<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a random number generation device for saving power while securing randomness. <P>SOLUTION: A random number generation device 100 is provided with a register 150 for, when it is started for the first time after turned on, holding the value of a counter 130, and for, otherwise, storing the value of an M sequence counter 120 when a stop instruction is made.
