PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an Nb<SB>3</SB>Al system compound superconductive precursor wire rod possessing high critical current density and for being lengthened, and to provide a method for manufacturing an Nb<SB>3</SB>Al system compound superconductive multi-wire rod. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the Nb<SB>3</SB>Al system compound superconductive precursor wire rod includes a single-wire preparing process wherein a single wire is prepared formed of a first metal material including Al and a second metal material including Nb, a wire-drawing process wherein a drawn single wire is formed by drawing the single wire until it grows to a first elongation, and an intermediate heat-treatment process wherein the drawn single wire is annealed at a temperature lower than the melting point of the first metal material so that the drawn single wire is enabled to be processed until it grows to a second elongation larger than the first elongation.
