<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially effective specific polyglycerol fatty acid ester using glyceryl carbonate and a fatty acid as raw materials, and to provide its production method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Provided is the objective polyglycerol fatty acid ester characterized by reacting glyceryl carbonate in the absence of a catalyst at a high temperature at reduced pressure under refluxing, and then reacting the reaction product with the fatty acid during decarbonation.
