<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure, and to prevent a vehicle body side on a vehicle body transfer device from being damaged. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this vehicle body transfer device, hanging pillars 21 are arranged to correspond to four front, rear, right and left portions of the vehicle body. At a lower end part of each of the hanging pillars 21, a receiving part 22 to lift the vehicle body from the lower surface side and transfer the vehicle body is provided. The receiving part 22 is mounted on each of the hanging pillars 21 to be movable in a width direction of the vehicle body. The hanging pillars 21 are provided with moving mechanisms 34 to move the vehicle body in the width direction. A positioning mechanism 36 to perform the positioning of the receiving part 22 at a center part of a moving range is provided between the hanging pillars 21 and the receiving part 22.
