PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging apparatus, capable of reducing horizontal line phenomenons during high luminance incidence, even when image signals are amplified to a high magnification in a multi-pixel image sensor or an output amplifier. SOLUTION: The solid-state imaging apparatus comprises: a pixel unit where a plurality of pixels, having at least a photoelectric conversion means, a transfer means and an amplification means are arrayed in a matrix direction; a vertical signal line 2-7 for reading pixel output in common by column; a constant-current source 2-5 connected to the vertical signal line; an output amplifier 2-11 for amplifying the image signals from the pixel unit; a clip circuit 5-1 for clipping the vertical signal line so as not to be a prescribed voltage or below, during a read period of outputting the image signals from the pixel part to the vertical signal line; and a control signal generation circuit 5-3 for changing the clip level of the clip circuit corresponding to the setting of the amplification factor of the output amplifier.
