PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize a new structure of a transparent strip electrode, which reduces reddish black phenomenon and sufficiently reduces the surface resistance of the transparent strip electrode so as to drive the display device. SOLUTION: The display device is equipped with transparent substrates 11, 13, and a plurality of transparent strip electrodes 14, 15 arranged in parallel to one another on the transparent substrates, the transparent strip electrode 14 being formed of a single conductive material and partially different in thickness.
