We provide a nucleic acid sequence as shown in Table D1 or Table D2, or a variant, homologue, derivative or fragment thereof. A combination of two or more sequences is also provided. The nucleic acid sequence or combination may be used for detection of influenza or discrimination between strains of influenza.
