摘要 <p>Provided is a fuel injection control method systematized for a compression self-ignition internal combustion engine which can perform a sub-injection prior to a main injection such that an injection pattern to be provided by the main injection and the sub-injection can be optimized.  In a common rail diesel engine (1) which can perform at least a main injection and a pre-injection as a fuel injection operation from an injector (23), pre-injection is performed while being divided into a first pre-injection and a second pre-injection.  Injection timing and injection amount of each fuel injection are controlled such that a part of fuel injected in the first pre-injection is combusted by self-ignition, and the reminder is not combusted until fuel is injected in the main injection but combusted together with the fuel injected in the main injection.  Furthermore, injection timing of each fuel injection is controlled such that fuel injected in the first pre-injection and flowing along a swirl flow in a cylinder and fuel injected subsequently in the main injection are used concurrently.</p>
