PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timing controller which reduces burdens of development cost and development period of a liquid crystal display device, and to provide a liquid crystal display device with the timing controller. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a pair of substrates opposing each other; a liquid crystal layer held between the pair of substrates; a display part consisting of a plurality of display pixels arranged in a matrix state; a gate driver for selecting the plurality of display pixels for each row; a source driver supplying an image signal to the display pixel selected by the gate driver; and a controller for controlling the gate driver and the source driver. The controller has: a plurality of mapping circuits; a differential amplitude generating part; and a switching means for switching an input of the differential amplitude generating part to any output signal of the plurality of mapping circuits.
