PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film for transparent vapor deposition capable of imparting stably high gas barrier performance and moisture-proof performance at a thin vapor-deposited thickness, and capable of enhancing remarkably those, in the polyester film for the transparent vapor deposition, and the transparent vapor-deposited polyester film. SOLUTION: This polyester film for the transparent vapor deposition is a biaxially oriented polyester film having at least two layers of an A layer and a B layer, wherein the A layer and the B layer are positioned respectively in the most-outside layer, and is used in a form laminated with a transparent vapor deposition layer using metal or a metal oxide in an A layer side, and a center line surface roughness SRa of an A layer surface (surface A) is 10 nm or less, in the polyester film, the surface roughness SRa of the surface A is lower than a center line surface roughness SRa of a surface B, a peak number SPc of the surface A is smaller than a peak number SPc of the surface B, and a thickness is 5-25μm.
