<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material data editing system and a material data editing method which can conveniently and easily specify and edit the point of explanations of a user or places considered significant by the user in material data without performing any special operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This material data editing system includes: a screen 6 on which materials based on material data are displayed; a pointed place information acquisition part 13 for acquiring the position information of instructed places to be specified by the instructing operation of a user among the materials displayed on the screen 6; an attention degree calculation part 15 for calculating an attention degree based on the operating configurations of the instructing operation about the instructed place from which position information has been acquired by the instructed place information acquisition part 13; and a material data editing part 16 for editing material data corresponding to the instructed places, and for creating material editing data which can be displayed by reflecting the editing result according to the attention degree calculated by the attention degree calculation part 15.
