<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve space saving in a plane orthogonal to an optical axis and in an optical axis direction, reduction of cost required for cam machining and reduction in the number of parts in a lens positioning mechanism F. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A lens L3 held by a holder 2 is constituted of rectangular shape. The holder 2 has two plate parts 2a and 2b along the outer peripheral surface of the lens L3 in an X direction at positions opposed to each other across an optical axis. Each of the plate parts 2a and 2b is provided with at least one guide pin 2p so as to protrude in a Y direction. The holder 2 is housed in a fixed cylinder 3 so that the guide pin 2p can penetrate a straight advance groove 3a. A cam 4 coming into contact with the guide pin 2p integrally includes two plate-like opposed parts 4a and 4b opposed to the respective plate parts 2a and 2b and at least one coupling part 4c coupling the opposed ends of the opposed parts 4a and 4b, and is moved in the X direction with respect to the fixed cylinder 3, whereby the lens L3 is moved in the optical axis direction together with the guide pin 2p.
