PURPOSE:To prevent the uneveness due to changes in luminous quantity of a lamp and the distortion of an image by moving a transparent read guide plate having a correction reference member vertically to apply electronic shading to each original, allowing a read roller to press the original against the read guide plate and regulating the original in the direction of the depth of a lens at an ideal read position. CONSTITUTION:When the original 21 is loaded, a lamp 26 is lighted, the read guide plate 25 is lowered and the read roller 24 is placed apart from the read guide plate 25 and moved to a position shown in dotted lines. The correction reference member 25b is placed at a read point in this state, an image sensor 28 reads the correction reference member 25b via a lens 27 and the shading correction is applied based thereupon. Then the read guide plate 25 rises, the read roller 24 restores to the original position and is brought into press contact with the read guide plate 25, the original 21 is carried by carrying rollers 22, 23 and read by the image sensor 28 at a read point between the read roller 24 and the read guide plate 25 in a stable state. |
