PURPOSE:To simplify an operation of correcting a misprinted image, to enable a specified character to be emphasized and to prevent printed characters from being contaminated, by adding the function of covering up a recording medium with a transparent or opaque seal piece. CONSTITUTION:A seal tape 31 comprrises seal pieces 31b which are provided on a base paper 31a and are provided with tackiness sufficient for the pieces to adhere to a recording medium 34. Each of the seal pieces 31b is tack-free on the base paper 31a side, and is higly tacky at the enstire surface thereof on the side of the recording medium 34. The seal tape 31 and an ink ribbon 38 are disposed adjacent to each other, and in a normal printing operation, the ink ribbon 38 is opposed to a type position of a daisy wheel. When covering up a part of the recording medium 34 with the seal piece 31b, the seal tape 31 is opposed to the type position of the daisy wheel. By selecting one of seal tapes 31 provided respectively with various transparent or opaque seal pieces according to the use, the functions of a printer can be augmented. |
