The method involves providing a heat exchanger with an evaporator (6) of a coolant circuit (1) for receiving cold, and providing a fluid/air-heat exchanger for delivering air conditioning cold. A cooling medium-compressor (3) is electrically operated by low voltage independent of a vehicle-drive motor in a drive-mechanical manner to charge a cold memory by supplying electrical energy. The air conditioning cold is provided at a fluid/air-heat exchanger (9) when the cold memory is charged in still stand phases of a vehicle drive. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle independent air conditioning system comprising a coolant circuit.
