The drum (1) has channels (23) formed at a circulating ring wall (3) for aligned mounting of articles. Each channel opens into a transfer area (25) to which an outlet is attached at a predetermined rotation position. An inclination of the channels is defined opposite to a rotation axis such that the respective article that is accommodated in the respective channel independently slides in and along the respective channel up to the transfer area under influence of down-hill slope force induced by the weight of the article during rotation of the drum. An independent claim is also included for a method for aligning articles.
