The stop bar (1) has a housing (2) with a base surface (6), and a blocking element (3) movable relative to the housing. The blocking element comprises a stop (5) and an abutment (4) that is provided below the base surface. Drive units e.g. pneumatic elements, are provided between the abutment and the housing such that the blocking element is movable between a securing position in which the stop protrudes upwards over the base surface and a release position in which the stop extends vertically as the base surface based upon activation of the drive units.
