<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal capable of performing inter-terminal communications without increasing power consumption and a circuit scale, and its communication control method and program. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When positioned outside the service area of a base station, a call originating function part 31 inside a control part 30 for controlling a radio signal transmission/reception part 10 and a baseband part 20 sends out a predetermined synchronization code through a first frequency band reserved for inter-terminal communication and performs data communications through the frequency band with the other mobile terminal for which synchronization is established by the synchronization code. Also, when a first frequency band is detected as the result of searching the first frequency band and a second frequency band for communication through the base station in mutually different cycles corresponding to the presence condition in the service area, a reception function part 32 establishes the synchronization using the synchronization code received from the other mobile terminal through the first frequency band, and performs the data communication with the other terminal.
