<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce variation of display characteristics in liquid crystal display devices manufactured by multiple-patterning. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes first and second electrodes which are disposed on the same surface of one insulating layer provided on a surface of an insulating substrate in one substrate of a liquid crystal display panel. The first substrate has a gap estimating means estimating a gap dimension between the first and the second electrodes on the outside of a predetermined region. The gap estimating means has one or more signal input lines and three or more signal output lines. One of the three or more signal output lines is provided on the surface on which the first and the second electrodes of the one insulating layer are disposed and is connected to the signal input line with a conductive pattern made of the same conductive material as that of the first and second electrodes.
