<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a π-conjugate system organic compound useful as a luminescent layer material of organic EL, or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The thiazole derivative is represented by general formula (I) (wherein n is an integer of 2-4; R<SP>11</SP>s are the same or different and each a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a lower alkoxycarbonyl group; Ar<SP>11</SP>s are the same or different and each a hydrogen atom or an aromatic group exhibiting electron withdrawing property with the proviso that at least one Ar<SP>11</SP>is an aromatic group exhibiting electron withdrawing property; and Ar<SP>12</SP>is an electron-donating group having an aromatic ring directly bonded to a thiazole backbone).
