PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink discharge substrate unit which has a low wiring resistance and contributes to improvement of reliability. SOLUTION: The ink discharge substrate unit has an ink discharge substrate H1100 with an ink feeding opening H1102 and a plurality of electro-thermal converting elements (not illustrated) provided on the surface of the ink discharge substrate H1100 to generate an energy for discharging an ink. In addition, the ink discharge substrate unit furthermore has a plurality of penetrating electrodes H1120 provided so as to penetrate the ink discharge substrate H1100 from the back face to the surface, and a back face wiring H1140 for electrically connecting respective penetrating electrodes H1120 with each other on the back face of the ink discharge substrate H1100. The back face wiring H1140 is stored in a space surrounded by the ink discharge substrate H1100 and a cover substrate H1150 arranged by opposing the back face of the ink discharge substrate H1100.
