The device has a patient supporting table (1) comprising a patient supporting plate (2), and an electromagnetic positioning and navigation device i.e. sensor, integrated into the supporting table. The positioning and navigation device comprises a field generator (15) movably arranged at/in/below the supporting table. A system control operates and controls an imaging medical device i.e. C-arm x-ray unit (3), and the positioning and navigation device, where the system control is a controller (8) of the imaging medical device.
