The method involves storing a set of assistance explanations for an operation of a speech control system in a memory of the speech control system, where individual assistance explanations are divided into a set of partial explanations. A context depending explanation is selected from the memory by input of a command, and one of the partial explanations of the context depending explanation is outputted. Other partial explanations are successively called up and outputted by repeating the input of the command or another command. An independent claim is also included for a speech control system comprising a memory.
