PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion trap mass spectroscope capable of securing target ions sufficiently, and optimized in MS/MS measurement. SOLUTION: The mass spectrometry apparatus is constituted of an ion source ionizing a sample, an ion trap which encloses ions generated at the ion source in accordance with a given mass charge ratio by forming three-dimensional quadrupole electric field, evacuates unnecessary ions, encloses only target ions into the quadrupole electric field, carries out collision-induced dissociation, generates fragment ions, carries out mass separation for the ions, and transmits the ions to a detector, and a detection part converting an ion volume into a current value. Moreover, the apparatus optimizes a captured ion volume in an ion capture operation and a target ion volume for carrying out MS/MS measurement, carries out ion selection operation and collision-induced dissociation, and obtains an MS/MS spectrum.
