摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus stably correcting gradation with high accuracy by correcting case errors in the output level of density sensors which are built in the image forming apparatus and variation in image forming characteristic. SOLUTION: Line patterns with same printed ratio and different resolutions are formed on an image carrier. The density of the line patterns are detected by the density sensors. A plurality of sensor outputs are obtained by executing processes in which the output of the density sensors when the detected density is the same in different resolutions is a reference value at the plurality of printed ratios. The sensor output is set which corresponds to the density in a gradation image from the obtained sensor outputs. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
